Jeff had to make a run to FedEx-Kinko's early this morning to turn in his Monday morning report since the hotel phone and internet lines had been down for most of our stay. Apparently, a major phone carrier who shall remain nameless cut a very important line while digging in the area a couple of days ago which caused a major outage and major headache for many businesses in the area. As we checked out, we were told our entire stay was free and that the company that cut the line and caused the inconvenience would be paying our bill. Major thanks to all who use that phone company for our stay in Atlanta!

Nathan had told Jeff about a good place to trout fish on the edge of Atlanta. We had enough time to do some fishing before catching a plane home, so off we went in search of the Chattahoochee River. We found several guys fly fishing, catching trout right and left. Only one problem, my angler had no waders. The ones he used earlier in the week came with the guided trip so he didn't have to haul his own waders all across Georgia. Poor thing walked up and down the river looking for a place deep enough to fish without having to get in the river...he looked like Patriot pacing the banks looking for just the right place to jump in. Poor thing never found it because the only good fishing spot was in the middle of the river. So he stayed dry looking cute in his new fishing hat, fly rod in hand, and just watched the other anglers do their angling.

Wishing his waders would magically appear...
Not even the thought of a free hotel bill could lift the despair of having no waders on this beautiful flowing river filled with rainbow trout.
But the thought of wearing his new fishing hat on future fishing trips brought a smile to my angler's face.
And not wanting to waste the beauty of this place, I snapped a few pictures.

Our last stop was lunch at the OK Cafe. Oh my, this was a great meal and a fun place. People were standing in line so we knew it had to be good. It was hard to decide what to order, but after eyeing a chicken fried steak at the next table, we decided to go with that as well as collard greens, squash casserole, some of the best mashed potatoes ever, cornbread and amazing iced tea...yes, iced tea can be considered amazing in our family. I think we've eaten collard greens and cornbread four times this week!
The OK Cafe was better than okay!
And that ends our exploration of northern Georgia and Atlanta.
It was a fun experience.
Now we need a vacation from eating!

I have SO ENJOYED your vacation!! Y'all do the "funnest" things and find the neatest places to vacate....and eat, of course! Thanks for a great blog!
