Jeff and I arrived in Boston late in the afternoon and took a harrowing taxi ride to our hotel. There was a car going the wrong way on the freeway which was a tad bit scary. Reminded me of our first visit to this city when we were dumb and rented a car...found out later that you're nuts to drive here, there are only half as many parking places as there are cars and parking costs an arm and a leg. Same trip to Boston when someone in our family drove down the wrong way on a couple of little unmarked streets and scared his wife and children half to death, but I digress.

Our hotel is the Boston Park Plaza located across from the Public Garden and the Boston Common. The hotel is about 80 years old, and although it was updated at some point, it's a bit on the cramped side. The bathroom door scrapes against the toilet when you try to open it all the way. But the old place has character, is in a good location and the company is paying the bill, so no complaints.
Jeff saw a landman he knew from his contract days, and after they talked shop for a bit, we asked if he and his wife wanted to join us for dinner. So off we went with my Top 10 Boston book to the North End which is the Little Italy of Boston.
We scouted out a multitude of amazing looking/smelling Italian restaurants on Hanover Street and decided on Ristorante Fiore which won out over some of the others because we dined on the rooftop which was about three stories up. Dining al fresco and on a rooftop made for excellent atmosphere which always makes the food taste better.
We decided to try someplace different for dessert in order to experience more of this quaint part of town, so we went across the street to Modern Pastry Shop and got a creme brulee topped with strawberries and blueberries and a chocolate liner filled with cream and topped with raspberries and blackberries.

I suggested we take our desserts across the street to a coffee shop and eat them with a cup of latte,
We had a great time visiting and enjoying not one,
not two,
but three of the North End's amazing selection of eateries.
