WDW Day 4

We all began the day with a trip to Animal Kingdom, except Nathan who went for a round of golf. Funny how he just so happened to have golf shoes in his suitcase. Molly and Brian headed for Expedition Everest as soon as we got there, Jeff went with Betsy and Kinsley to the feeding center and I dashed to get Safari fast passes. 

Then it started to rain again. Are you kidding me? So we dashed (lots of dashing today!) into a gift shop in Africa along with a couple hundred other people. We found cute animal books for K, Mickey Mouse earrings for Molly and me and a cute shirt for moi, so it wasn't a total waste of time. And the cashier informed us that the animals like a light rain, so we should expect to see a lot of critters wandering about which we did. And part way through the safari it quit raining and the skies cleared for the rest of the day. Amen!

There were so many termite mounds. 

They may be important to the ecosystem, but I find them disgusting.

The giraffes were my favorites.
I'm sure they would've been Kinsley's favorites too, if...

...if she could've kept her eyes open.
Girlfriend, slept through most all of this bumpy safari trip.

She even slept on the walk afterwards...

Some of us may have been a teensy bit jealous of her nap.

Jeff and Molly headed off for their own lunch to Asia or some such place while I went with the Georges to the Flame Tree Barbecue...such good bbq on a deck by the river. Then we headed over to DinoLand at which point Nathan joined us after his golf game. We were reunited at TriceraTop Spin where B&B, K and I rode the flying dinosaurs. Don't know who had more fun...those riding or those watching.

Well now, that was fun! 

Another stroll through the rainforest while Miss K had her mid-afternoon snack. 

Then we headed over to Hollywood Studios...

Some people were just itching to ride Rock'n' Roller Coaster again. They even talked Betsy into the Aerosmith experience, but she wasn't a fan. Meanwhile, K and I strolled around and snacked and took pictures and congratulated ourselves for not being talked into a ride that would've undoubtedly made us toss our (milk and) cookies.

While Molly, Nathan and Brian rode Tower of Terror, Kinsley and her entourage enjoyed sightseeing...

Then we took a ferry over to the Boardwalk and hung out at the Yacht Club Resort since we had dinner reservations there that night. We kind of pretended we were staying there. We got something to drink and took a rest (K took an actual siesta) on the veranda and enjoyed the view. I'd love for us to stay here sometime. The pool/beach area is so cool, there are restaurants and other fun things to do nearby and Epcot is a quick boat ride/short walk away.

I guess this would be a good time to mention that this little lump of sugar has not been a problem the entire trip. In fact, she has been as easy as I predicted she would be. Now if she had been old enough to crawl or walk or if she hated the stroller, that would be a different story. But she has been so enjoyable.

After the extreme riders joined us, we enjoyed a seafood buffet at Cape May in the Yacht Club Resort, then walked over to Epcot as the crowds were gathering for the laser/fireworks show. With not much time to spare before the show began, Molly and I dashed over to Norway to buy the perfume we discovered there when we were here six years ago (we're sentimental like that), then dashed all the way across the park to see if we could squeeze in a ride on Soarin', but the line was too long and we would miss the show. And I wasn't about to miss fireworks. But we did discover that The Land (where Soarin' is located) would be open an extra hour which was a valuable piece of information. So we hightailed it to the lake to meet up with the rest of the family to watch the laser/fireworks show. Kinsley bucked and shook her arms and legs in excitement as the fireworks exploded into the skies. I do believe she is a fan!

As the multitudes were leaving the park, we dashed back to The Land and walked right up to ride Soarin'...finally! It appeared that very few people knew it was open an hour after the rest of Epcot closes, so yay for inside tips! 

The Georges headed off to see Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Donald and Minnie...

The rest of us rode Soarin' again...whee! Then we took the little boat trip through Living with the Land where we saw greenhouses and fish farms and such. We pretty much shut down the park because there were very few people left by the time we said farewell to Mickey up front. It looked different than in daylight...at night the sphere has a reddish cast and it looks more like Mars than the moon.
